Some of you may already know about a sponsored walk I am doing in the near future for that very wonderful charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. Together with a small team of friends I will be walking the Jurassic Coastal Path and apart from a bit of “hill anxiety” I am really looking forward to it. One of the great benefits of committing myself to this is I am also then committed to meeting up with the team to train as often as we can. We met today and walked for about 90 minutes up and down – and up again – one of Dorset’s most dramatic inland hills, Hambledon Hill. The view was breathtaking. It was peaceful, we saw rare butterflies and we talked. It was just what I needed. To be honest my week hasn’t been going well so far but on the drive home I felt relieved, boosted, re-energised. It got me thinking about how important exercise is, not just for our physical health but our mental health and our sense of well-being too. I dug around a bit on Google later on and came across this article which I am attaching as it is very helpful.

So knowing we need to exercise is great. But when? Where? How? We can all provide lots of reasons why we haven’t stuck to the programme, whatever that is. If you would like to meet for a one off session to work out how you can fit more exercise into your life on a regular basis please get in touch either through my website, facebook page or by mobile – 07961 080513.
