I recently received a thank you note from a client. We ran her initial session over the ‘phone and then met for a double session (with a walk round my garden half way through to give us both a bit of a break!). It can be quite challenging to build a strong enough rapport in one ‘phone and one face to face coaching session but it can – and usually does – work.
This client had contacted me describing themselves as ‘a 50-something over-privileged empty-nester needing help to find a way of not wasting their life’. What she said to me afterwards was hugely rewarding:
“The session was really useful in giving me the space to work out some of my own feelings and try to find a way to move forward. It’s hard to do this on your own and there is a limit to how much you can ask your family to get involved. So I thoroughly appreciated the way you challenged me and made me consider things I would normally avoid thinking about. I’m really grateful for your help. You are thoughtful and balanced, non-judgmental and wise.”
So it is great to know they are now feeling more focussed, energised and most importantly in control of their future decisions. Feedback like this makes my life coaching so very worthwhile and rewarding!
